Evening league for beginners or recent Learn To Curl graduates.
The Rookie League season consists of three (3) blocks of approximately 7 to 12 scheduled games. At the end of each block of scheduled games, the players are shuffled into new teams. We start the season off in September with two or three practice nights (at no extra cost). Our season normally finishes on the last Monday of April. This year we will be trying a new format called Triples Curling. The game consists of 6 ends and there are 3 players per team, lead, middle and skip. Each player plays two ends at each position. This is a great way to learn the various roles within a team and work on all aspects of the game. We will be going over the rules and working our way through on the first three weeks to familiarize ourselves with the new format. This league is primarily a fun league, geared to the beginner/novice curler and for any curler who wants to learn more about the sport and have fun playing the game. It is also open to any curler who wishes to expand their skills while assisting the novice curlers in learning more about the sport. This league is open to and welcomes any curler, whether they be a new curler or new member to the club. There will be some experienced curlers who will play and be there to help other players learn more about the sport of curling. This is a great place for a curler who has just finished The Learn to Curl program and wants to put what they have learned into practice. This is an individual sign-up league only (with the exception of couples and/or players travelling together). No team entries are allowed for this league
